MacBook battery replacement
Genuine Apple battery cells. Restored full-day battery life on machines you thought were past it.
What’s involved
Apple MacBook batteries are rated for around 1000 charge cycles. After 3 to 5 years of normal use, capacity falls to 60-70% of original, and what used to be a full day of battery life becomes 3 or 4 hours. A battery replacement restores the original full-day capacity.
We use genuine Apple cells, properly calibrated to the system after installation so the percentage reading is accurate from day one.
How we quote
We don’t publish a fixed price for MacBook battery replacement. Apple cell pricing varies by model and moves over time. Phone us with your MacBook model and we’ll give you a ballpark on the call. If diagnostic is needed (e.g. to confirm it’s actually the battery and not a software process keeping the system awake), the £75 fee covers it and is deducted from any repair you go ahead with.
Turnaround
24 to 48 hours. MacBook batteries are common-stock items so we usually have them on the shelf.
How do you know it’s the battery?
Hold Option and click the Apple menu → System Information → Power. Look at Cycle Count and Battery Condition. Cycle count above 1000, or any Condition status other than “Normal”, means the battery is at end of life. Symptoms include: drops in big percentage jumps, doesn’t last more than a few hours from 100%, the system feels sluggish under load.
When this isn’t the right fix
If the battery cycle count is low (under 300) but life is poor, the cause is more likely a software process keeping the system awake. Activity Monitor → Energy tab will show which. We diagnose this before fitting a new battery.
